Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application system.
Applications are actually open and will shut on fifteen December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should fulfill the following requirements:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house which has a combined gross family earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 per annum.
• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic revenue does not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and wish not submit any proof of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent people from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.
Applicants are reminded to provide the correct Identity Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored in their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds people who are studying or plan to research in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the nsfas status last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
